From beginners to seasoned players, our program pushes athletes to step up, compete, and grow - both on and off the court. With expert coaching and a high-energy atmosphere, we focus on developing skills, leadership, and mental toughness to prepare you for any challenge that comes your way.

We currently have 14U and 12U teams, providing young athletes with competitive opportunities to develop their game, sharpen their skills, and experience the power of teamwork. As we continue to grow, we remain dedicated to offering a dynamic and supportive environment for players of all levels.

Dream big. Work hard. Play harder. Welcome to Triple Threat Basketball - where greatness is earned, not given!

Blake Shifflett

Coach Blake Shifflett has always had a love for the game. As a multi-sport athlete in high school, he competed in both basketball and baseball, earning All-State honors in 2019, while winning a state championship in baseball his senior year. His experiences as a player taught him the value of perseverance, teamwork, and discipline - lessons he now passes on to the next generation.

Currently coaching basketball at William Monroe, Blake is committed to helping young athletes grow both on and off the court. He believes success isn’t just about talent but about effort, attitude, and a willingness to learn. His goal is to create an environment where players develop confidence, improve their skills, and embrace the process of getting better every day.

For Coach Shifflett, coaching isn’t just about the wins - it’s about building character, fostering a love for the game, and helping athletes reach their full potential. He’s proud to be part of the Triple Threat Basketball family and looks forward to guiding the next generation of players on their journey.

Gary Morris

Coach Gary Morris, known as Coach G, has been immersed in basketball from a very young age. Starting at just 5 years old, he faced significant challenges early in his career, including being cut from his middle school team in both 6th and 7th grades. However, these setbacks fueled his determination to improve. His perseverance paid off as he went on to earn a spot on the Varsity team at William Monroe, helping lead the team to the 2013 VHSL State Tournament. There, they battled hard in the Semi-Finals at VCU, ultimately falling to Gate City.

Despite receiving recruiting interest from numerous ODAC schools, Coach G chose to stay home to support his mother, who had recently been diagnosed with cancer. This decision has profoundly influenced his coaching philosophy.

Now, in his second year as Varsity Assistant Coach at William Monroe, Coach G is committed to pushing student-athletes to exceed their limits. He focuses on helping them grow both on and off the court, striving to turn them into disciplined, hard-working, and committed young men capable of handling adversity. Through these efforts, Coach G hopes to offer the same opportunities he had to future generations of athletes.
